Short Brief: Checkmate
By:Kirillo-Edvard Alexandrov - Into the desert, the commonality between Ukrainians and Persians.
The fascinating historical ties between Ukrainians and Persians run deep.
Modern scholars in anthropology, genetics, and linguistics point to shared Indo-European roots tracing back to the ancient Yamnaya culture of today’s southern Ukraine ( nearly 3300 BCE) that spread to modern day Iran and even language reflects this connection. A common example is in the word “checkmate”. In Persian (شاهمات ) is “shah mat” and Ukrainian (шах і мат) “shah i mat” - a symbol of unity of cultural heritage and something deeper.
In 2026, Ukrainians and Persians need not stand as enemies, but as allies, as one people, mended by ancient ties and the love of freedom…As KNIGHTS, on the same side of the board together fighting against their true adversary, which is authoritarianism regimes and leaders like Putin and the animalistic Iranian regime, whose systems rely on violence, arbitrary arrests, repression, censorship, torture, and the reduction of human beings to PAWNS.
Beyond history and language, what Ukrainians and Persians share most is bravery and an unyielding ache for freedom which is also a strong component in the souls of AMERICANS.
In The United States we have an opportunity to support those suffering as they jump towards democracy. This is something Americans have always proudly done.
If FREEDOM is the strongest bond between peoples, then Americans, Iranians, and Ukrainians are ONE people.
May we all stand together and bring light to the human race.
Checkmate.
