How do former supporters of Russia who now support Ukraine still aid Russia?

There has been no shortage of Americans who have supported Russia or actively opposed Ukraine.

Often with little to no formal understanding of either Russia or Ukraine, many internet personalities and media commentators are devoid of any sound reasoning behind their beliefs. This is likely, at least in part, the result of direct or indirect influence from Russia, Iran, China, and other authoritarian states.

Amid current events, some political activists who once expressed trust in Russia have begun publicly apologizing to Ukraine for believing Russian narratives. To many, this appears to be a “coming to the light” moment.

Unfortunately, that is not always the case.
